ISO (International Organization of Standardization) This is a non-governmental international organization that develops and publishes standards to ensure the quality, safety, efficiency and compatibility of products, services and systems. Common functions of the ISO are to Facilitate International Trade, Ensure Quality and Safety standards, Promote innovation, and helping in environmental protection.
ANSI (American National Standards Institute) A private, non-profit organization that oversees the development of voluntary consensus standards for products, services, processes, systems and personnel in the United States. Common functions of the ANSI are enhancing global competitiveness, ensuring quality and safety, facilitating trade and supporting innovation.
TIA (Telecommunications Industry Association) A trade association that represents the global information and communications technology (ICT) industry. Common functions of TIA are standards and developement, policy initiatives, business opportunities and market intelligence.
IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) The worlds largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. Common functions of the IEEE are fostering technological innovation, setting industry standards, educational and professional development and global community building.
NEC (National Electrical Code) also known as NFPA 70, is a set of standards designed to ensure the safe installation of electrical wiring and equipment in the US. Common functions of the NEC are safety, uniformity, compliance and innovation.
